People Building Bridges to Connect People
Praise the LORD and pray in his name! Tell everyone what he has done. Sing
praises to the LORD! Tell about his miracles. Celebrate and worship his holy name
with all your heart. Trust the LORD and his mighty power. (Psa. 105:1-4)
With the gathering of the corn and the canning of the harvest, we are reminded of the many blessings God as given us. Because of the enormous water levels this year, I’ve been told that farmers were not able to plant their fields until late in the season. I’ve also been told it has been a great year for harvest. When we hear how many people there are in the world (not to mention all the birds, animals and fish and other creatures), I often wonder how can there be provision for everyone. Yet God’s grace and provisions come through. I like to think of it this way, God shares his wealth with His creation.
People will be gathering with family and friends to share stories and a meal fit for a king. People will be laughing with joy. There will be celebration in the air! With all these things said, I want to share with you just a few of the miracles that Jesus shared with people.
Mat -22 Jesus replied, "They don't have to leave. Why don't you give them something to eat?’" But they said, "We have only five small loaves of bread and two fish." Jesus asked his disciples to bring the food to him, and he told the crowd to sit down on the grass. Jesus took the five loaves and the two fish. He looked up toward heaven and blessed the food. Then he broke the bread and handed it to his disciples, and they gave it to the people. After everyone had eaten all they wanted, Jesus' disciples picked up twelve large baskets of leftovers. There were about five thousand men who ate, not counting the women and children. Right away, Jesus made his disciples get into a boat and start back across the lake. But he stayed until he had sent the crowds away.
Jesus gave thanks and broke the bread and shared it with the people, there was enough for everyone. Thanks giving needs to be shared with others! Just one other thought is found in Luke Jesus took some bread in his hands and gave thanks for it. He broke the bread and handed it to his apostles. Then he said, "This is my body, which is given for you. Eat this as a way of remembering me!" .Just as Jesus feed the people and met their physical needs He is also supplying all our spiritual needs. It is shared to all who believe, and we need to share the blessing.
God Bless,
Pastor Bentley
